Maria Menounos
As she was caring for her mother, who has stage 4 brain cancer Maria found out she was in the midst of an illness that was her own. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. "I'd felt lightheaded during filming and suffering headaches" she tells PEOPLE in their exclusive feature. "My speech had gotten blurred, and I was having trouble understanding the prompter". An MRI confirmed Menounos to have a huge-sized meningioma brain tumor that has grown to the size that of a golf ball. It was pushing on her facial nerves. Menounos had an appointment scheduled to see her mother's doctor the renowned surgeon Dr. Keith L. Black to schedule surgery for June 8-her 39th birthday. The doctor told her that, "I am 98 percent positive that the tumor is not malignant, however, we won't know until we get into there," Dr. Black managed to eliminate 99.9% of benign tumors through a procedure that took 7 hours. The doctor. Black claimed that it's feasible to observe the tumor be resurrected in between 6 and 7 percent of cases. They're my best choice. Menounos returned home after an extended stay of six days in the hospital. Menounos is recuperating and enjoying time with Litsa as well as her mother. Litsa's recent MRI confirms that she's still free of cancer.
